In Poland. In Lodz. And soon back to Norway. Strong challenges are waiting. Strong need of God's guidance. Ask him often. As I also hope praying friends of us and Safety Shelter stand together with us in prayer...
Three main challenges: 1) Future development of our ministry 2) Future housing / localisation 3) Reduced income
Strong challenges - and interesting challenges.
First: Should we - Safety Shelter be more engaged in the needs among Polish people in Norway? It's about 100.000 Polish people in Norway.
We are able if we too are able to motivate teams from Poland coming to Norway for serving Polish people. Our role would be to prepare the ground. Be good match makers in between Polish and Norwegian congregations and groups.
Second: As some of you know: Our landlord, Hurdal kommune, has decided to sell Mjølnerhaugen.
One option is of course to find a solution for buying it - and still be in Mjølnerhaugen.
Second option is to find a more simple alternative. Makes us more flexible. Be more in Poland. Often - as now too: We feel lack of enough time to care our going on engagements in Poland.
Conditions for buying would be that we have 1) A very clear understanding of future use of such a big house. In doubt. 2) If yes: a key person strong supported of other willing people taking the responsible for renewing. The house is in bad condition. 3) Strong financial supporters. We have NO own funds for buying.
Third: Reduced income. Result of first quarter 2011 is not good. Gifts from our supporters is reduced with 25 percent. Income from ovn created income activity is down about 30 percent.
In coclusion: Changes have to be worked out. Well synchronised with the Lords understanding. Please pray together with us...
